This page gives an explanation of the intention behind the rules. Not reading the rules or this page is not a valid excuse for breaking the rules. Staff have a range of punishments available to them when they need to take action, ranging from warnings, mutes, jailings, kicks and bans.
The rules may be updated at any time without prior notice. You should check this page, and/or /rules on the server from time to time.
The Guiding Principle - Use common sense - respect the spirit of the rules and respect one another.
There are many cases that will not be covered by the rules explicitly, but if they do happen, action will be taken. All players should consider what the rules are intended to prevent. If you are not sure of an action you are about to do, ask a staff member and they will provide you with a clarification. This rule states that while not all cases are listed in the rules, action may be taken against players that:
disrespect other players.
break the intentions of the rules, without necessarily breaking the rules.
cause a miserable experience on the server for other players.
It is up to server administrators to decide what falls within the remit of the rules when there is an alleged misdemeanour. It is not up to the players, nor the moderators of the server. Moderators may, however, impose a temporary ban under this rule should no admins be available.
All Servers - Rules of Gameplay
No Rodding or unwarranted throwing of snowballs
Rodding annoys everyone - trying to “hook” someone is not clever. Neither is throwing snowballs at someone repeatedly. Don’t do it.
No hacking, or making use of unfair mods, dupes or glitches.
Some extra mods that we do allow are:
Too many items.
HD resource pack patcher.
Reflective water (but it must not be used to try and see into the world)
Chat macros (within reason, spamming the server is not allowed)
Some mods that we do not allow are:
Phasing / no-clip mods.
X-ray mods and resource packs.
Zombe's modpack (this includes fly mods and hacks)
If a mod gives you a visual of holes in the terrain that of which you can see through, consistently or not, you are not allowed to use it under any circumstances. The use of any mod or glitch that allows you to avoid protections and mechanics of the server are also prohibited. If you are unsure of anything that is or is not on the list, feel free to ask. The list can be updated when required, and it is still possible to punish someone who uses any mod that is not listed when it is felt that an unfair advantage is gained.
Do not create or use inappropriate or offensive builds/skins
Do not create structures, or wear skins, that may offend / disgust others. This relates to:
Creation of structure that look like genitalia.
Creation of any Nazi symbols, meaning swastikas.
Creation of structures that may be religious leaders.
Creation of structures that may be controversial figures.
Naming of any items that may be inappropriate or disgusting.
The Owner and admins have absolute discretion over this rule.
No using automated machines, automated movement mods or any other tactics to break server mechanics
The server is meant to include fairness at all times, breaking the game mechanics to automate some manual tasks, notably egg hatching, is unfair and is forbidden.
Pixelmon - Extra Rules of Gameplay
No griefing, stealing, or overclaiming.
Griefing is defined as:
The removal or addition of blocks to another player's structure.
The use of blocks to block another's access to or within a structure.
The use of blocks to gain access to a structure that is not your own.
The use of blocks to impede another player's expansion, or cause a nuisance around another player.
Claiming a build that is not your own
Stealing is defined as:
The removal of items from another player’s storage without permission
Basically, do not mess with another player's property. If you want to help them, ask them first. If a block is accidentally broken, replace it. Do not abuse this, you are expected to replace things you have broken whenever possible. These rules apply regardless of whether or not an area is claimed using GriefPrevention - if it is not claimed, it will still be classed as grief or stealing if you do any of the above actions on it.
Do not use Pixelmon items to bypass any restrictions. These rules also apply in Spawn.
No building near or next to someones claim/base unless you have his/her permission.
People like to expand and no-one likes to look out of their build to see another build so close, so by spacing yourselves apart, there can be little argument. You should settle a minimum of 100 blocks away from any other claim.
If you wish to expand in the direction of your neighbors and this will take you to within 100 blocks, ask them first. However, if they agree, be considerate, and try not to expand more than half the distance to their claim.
No scamming or extortion
Scamming or extortion is one of the following:
Selling an item, pokémon or build - but not being truthful about what you are selling - for example, claiming to sell a 100% IV Pokemon, but actually selling a 100/186 IV pokémon
Not paying what you were expected to (only paying 50k instead of 500k)
Bidding or buying an item/pokémon when you do not have the money to complete the sale
Attempting to get kit chests, keys, or special items/pokémon without explaining what the item you want to get is - for example, asking for the “reset kit chest” without explaining what is in it.
Taking advantage of new players, including telling the player false or warped information to make gains out of it.

All Servers, Forums and Teamspeak - Chat & Communication
Be respectful, be ethical. Do not engage in Racism or Sexism, or any other form of discrimination.
The server is open to the entire world, and you may not know who the players really are. A comment / joke made about one's lifestyle, religion, ethnic background, or a disability may greatly offend someone.
No one person should be discriminated against for being different to someone else.
If a player refuses to talk about an aspect of themselves, do not attempt to force it out of them. If they are sick of an ongoing comment or joke about them, respect it, and stop. Do not participate in bullying
Links to pornographic, adult, highly disturbing, or illegal content is forbidden.
It is understood that players will swear at times, and that a strange topic will come along, but please don't let it go too far. Illegal content or links will earn the sender an instant ban.
No Server Advertising
It is understood that most players became aware of the server through advertising website, but that is the only place where advertising belongs. This is not limited to just offering an IP address, public declarations about other servers is also a part of this rule, this includes offering to provide the IP address.
Do not ask for OP
The only place you may put yourself forward for staff is on the website. You must NOT ask on the server.
When it is felt that more staff members are needed, then an owner or an admin will approach such a player they find suitable for a staff role from the pool of applications. Asking for it outside of normal channels will only annoy the current staff members, and it shows that you are probably not ready for it.
If you come online and say PMC sent you, you will be banned immediately. No questions asked.
Do not impersonate staff or other players, and do not claim to hold a rank you do not own
Impersonating staff to confuse players into thinking you have an official rank is wrong and unfair on those who legitimately need help. Claiming to be staff when you are not is also considered to be wrong, and claiming you can get a punishment imposed is also considered to be impersonation.
Do not impersonate other players either - this has the potential to cause tension between two players that isn't you, and is again unfair on the poor victims.
Impersonation of players or staff will earn you a ban.
Do not use light red ordark red in nicknames/chat unless you have the correct rank to do so.
You must not use dark or light red in chat, or have more than half of your nickname in either red, unless:
You are staff
You have the Missing.N0 rank
You have the Master rank or above (light red only)
Do not ask staff for ranks, items, pokémon or any other service to your advantage without the proper token.
Ranks are our way of showing appreciation for donations and a player’s contribution to the server. We will not accept any request for a rank - it is unfair to those who earn it. Similarly, asking for items and pokémon is the same. It’s not fair to those who earn them
The exception to this rule is if you have a donator token that lets you get an item or a service from an admin, and the token instructs you to ask an admin. This token will be exchanged for that item, pokémon, rank or service. This will be discuss further below.
No asking for drop parties
We like to do drop parties fairly often, but it is for us to decide when to do them. Asking for them will only annoy the poor staff that can set them up, and as a result, they will not do them.
Drop parties are often used to thank the players for playing on InfinityMC and sticking to these rules - not on demand.
Do not spam or use capital letters excessively, and do not use excessive formatting.
Spamming is the act of flooding the chat with either:
Identical or near-identical messages
Pointless random messages
Excessive formatting is defined as:
Using many colors in one chat message, keep it to one or two
Using multiple formatting modes at once, bold, italic AND underline is a bit much. Please stick to italics if anything.
Using magic/random characters.
We also define spamming as repeating yourself over or using all capitals to get attention, even at fairly slow intervals. Do not ask the same question every few seconds. Chances are, someone is replying to you. Rule of thumb is that you can repeat your question every minute if you do not get a response.
Limit swearing or adult topics - keep it family friendly
Topics that are likely to cause distress to younger and more sensitive players is strictly forbidden. Swearing and other profane language should be limited, except in Pixelmon, where swearing is prohibted in the public chat. This rule also relates to any object that can be seen by the public, including books and named items on the server. Objects that are found to be in contravention of these rules will be destroyed, and other action may be taken.
As a rule of thumb, keep it to a level where it is appropriate for 13 year olds.
English only in public chat
InfinityMC has players from across the globe, and we value every member of this server. We do ask, however, that all players use English in public chat, so that as many people as possible are included - though we do accept that the occasional chat about languages may come out, we just wish to ensure that no players should feel left out.
In private chat we do not enforce this rule, but be aware that anything found suspicious can and will be translated.
Staff may occasionally use other languages to communicate with others on the server. This is an exception - usually for when we need to explain a situation to a non-native English speaker.
Do not ask for our plugins for your own server.
Most of our plugins are custom made or altered. We will not give them out.
Pixelmon Donator Token Rules
Some tokens require you to ask an admin to redeem them. The rules for redeeming them are below:
Standard Donator Tokens (known as Donor Tokens)
You can only get ONE of each of the following ever. This means if you get one from a donor token, you cannot get another, even if you get another token. You can only get ONE of these per token. We will note down that you have redeemed these.
Shrine - one of Frozen, Static or Fiery.
Empty Orb - one of Frozen, Static or Fiery
You can get ONE of the following from a donor token, but can get these multiple times
Mineral/valuable blocks - such as Diamond, Gold, Emerald, Lapis, Iron
Pixelmon blocks (excluding Temple Blocks, which can be a stack)
Held items (excluding Destiny Knots)
Potions and other battle consumables
You can get ONE STACK (unless otherwise noted) of the following from a donor token, and can get them multiple times
Standard building materials available through Survival - such as Cobblestone, Stone, etc.
Pokéballs, except for Cherish Balls, Master Balls and GS Balls
You CANNOT get the following
Any blocks that are available in creative only, including bedrock
Eggs or any kind (both Minecraft spawn eggs and Pokémon eggs)
Any other type of token
Move Tutor Tokens
You may exchange one token to ask an Admin or a Moderator to teach one move to one Pokémon
The Pokémon must be able to learn the requested move, either by TM, HM or naturally.
If the move can only be learnt from a certain level, then your Pokémon must be at least that level.
For the avoidance of any doubt, Pokémon movesets are checked against Generation V data
